Dr. Julie Jongepier

Dr. Jongepier completed her Bachelor Honours Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees in 1998 from the University of Waterloo. As part of the optometric curriculum she worked extensively with several ophthalmologists in Tallahassee, Florida. These clinics specialized in cataract surgery, glaucoma, LASIK, neuro-ophthalmology and oculoplastics. She also gained valuable clinical experience in ocular diseases working in Kingston, Jamaica.

Upon graduation Dr. Jongepier received the Ontario Association of Optometrists Award for Excellence in Patient Management. After practicing in her hometown of London, she started her Burlington practice in 2000. Dr. Jongepier is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, the Ontario Association of Optometrists and Eye Recommend, Canada’s Vision Care Professionals. Dr. Jongepier is certified through the College of Optometrists of Ontario to prescribe ocular therapeutics.

Dr. Jongepier’s special interests include the role of nutrition and general health in relation to ocular diseases, dry eye disease, pediatrics and contact lenses.

Dr. Julia Baltais completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in BioMedical Science at the University of Guelph. She went on to obtain her Doctorate of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts in 2012.

She gained a very diverse clinical education, based heavily in ocular disease, through working in a health center, Veterans hospital, private practice and a large ophthalmology clinic. Dr. Baltais strives to provide comprehensive examinations, to patients of all ages, and believes strongly in educating her patients about their eye health.

Outside of the office, she can often be found in her kitchen honing her baking skills, or camping by a lake in one of Ontario’s provincial parks.

Dr. Sandeep Bahugun

Dr. Sandeep Bahugun

Dr. Bahugun completed her Honors Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Waterloo in 2015 and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston in 2019.

Dr. Bahugun gained a diverse clinical experience in primary care, advanced pediatrics, ocular disease and low vision in various clinical settings, and believes that early detection and timely intervention can significantly improve the long-term visual outcome for children.

She understands the importance of spending time with patients and parents to educate them on their specific eye-related conditions.

Dr. Bahugun feels passionately about humanitarian work and looks forward to volunteering and providing optometric care locally and internationally. During her leisure time, Dr. Bahugun enjoys learning about new cultures through travel and spending time with family and friends.

Our Staff

Our friendly, experienced staff are dedicated to giving you the highest standard of eye care. Our team consists of our receptionist, certified optometric assistant, frame stylist and optometry students.
